A-Game Advice from the Sundance Film Festival

Times have changed - expectations are raised, which means that it takes a lot of work to land roles in film and TV these days. Scripts need to be memorized. Characters need to be fully developed. And, walls need to come down!

There is no debating – Actor Nate Parker is rising to the top of his game, landing major roles by giving each character a true heart and soul.

“The trick to creating a character is work, time, hours. Literally hours,” shares Nate Parker who was named one of the Top Ten to Watch in 2012 by Variety.

Nate Parker is known for developing deeply human characters in films including Great Debaters (directed by Denzel Washington), Red Tails(directed by George Lucas), The Secret Life of Bees, Pride, Dirty,Blood Done Sign My Name, and many more.

On stage, Nate appeared opposite Dustin Hoffman, Annette Benning, Rosario Dawson and James Cromwell in American Voices at the Broad Street Theater.

In every aspect of his life, Nate Parker works hard. He commits and inspires.

In his gently, soul rocking, directorial debut titled Jack Goes Boating, Philip Seymour Hoffman shares a story about the silence, strain, and sometimes magically secure sides of long-term relationships.

“It’s a gut movie,” Philip Seymour Hoffman says about the film, which he also stared in along side acting mavericks Amy Ryan, John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

The movie “started as a play that myself, John and Daphne were in,” says Philip. “People talked about it being very cinematic and the group of us decided to take it on as a film.”

Amber Rose made headlines for being Kanye West’s girlfriend, she then made headlines again when she moved on from Kanye West to dating up-and-coming rapper Wiz Khalifa.

Hollyscoop caught up with the “Black and Yellow” rapper at the Bing Bar during the Sundance Film Festival and Khalifa was not shy about his adoration of woman Rose.

“She’s always on my mind. That’s my baby,” Khalifa tells us.

When we asked him if he sees marriage in the near future for him and Amber, we were expecting the standard Hollywood denial, but were surprised when Wiz candidly responded, “Definitely.”

“We’re gonna get married when the time is right, we’re enjoying each other, just having fun. Her music career is taking off. I would hate to stunt that, it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen,” says Khalifa.

While Wiz is busy working on his sophomore album “O.N.I.F.C” and producing tracks Chris Brown and Adam Levine, his girlfriend is turning from socialite to budding musician as her debut single “Fame” featuring Wiz Khalifa dropped earlier this month.

Khalifa revealed that his girlfriend is gearing up to go on promo tours of her new music career, and jokes, “She’s gonna be too busy to get married to me in a minute.”

They may be madly in love, but what does Wiz actually think of Amber’s music?

“I did a verse on [her song] actually,” reveals Khalifa, “Her music career is doing great. She’s on a promo tour, she’s doing all the big stuff that I do as an artist, she’s jumping straight in and doing it. I’m like a proud dad.”

Supporting boyfriend, proud dad, call it what you will, but Wiz Khalifa is as crazy about Amber Rose’s career as he is about her.
